So, we have a Trac page that I figure people should know about, at least to browse the code and submit bugs, and our server situation should be slightly less hurt soon. Meetings are still every Thursday (excluding the next two because of finals), but they're now working sessions- so come to code.

Updates 01/16/07

Great news! Flying Foo has officially been registered as on organization at UC Davis! Hopefully, it will become one soon at UC Berkeley. What does this mean for us? Now we can legitimately advertise, receive funding for resources, host events and effectively coordinate our projects while staying true to our mission.

As of now we will be having our software project meetings on Thursdays at 127 Wellman from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Upcoming meetings will be held on January 18th and January 25th. These meetings will involve those who are interested in learning about and/or contributing to our project.

We are also trying to have teaching sessions between our members. If you specialize in a certain language or program, please talk to one of the officers so we can discuss our seminars. Right now we have members who are interested in Flash and Javascript. If there is something that you would like to learn let us know. If we can't find anyone who is well specialized in the subject we can definitely find some other resources to help you out. Seminars will be hosted on days based on when the majority of people who are interested in that seminar are free. Most likely the seminars will not be hosted on Thursdays since that day is reserved for our project meetings.

As of now, project meetings will be weekly. We will try to have 2 seminars a month. Finally, we will try to have 1 collaborative meeting/social every month (or every 2 months) where all our members can get together and update the club about what they've been doing. Once we have fundraising or funding from the Club Finance Council on campus, we will be able to provide you with food and beverages =).

I hope people who attended last thursdays meeting have had a chance to review Python and the Django framework. This Thursday we will be discussing ideas for a new website. We will begin creating an outline for the project and allocating tasks to programmers and web designers. Be sure to think of some website ideas for this Thursday so we can have an effective brainstorm. I look forward to seeing you guys again.
